Key benefits
- Better memory in rat studies
- Builds new synapses in the lab
- Designed to work orally
Dihexa is a synthetic compound derived from angiotensin IV. It was developed to be more stable in the body than the original peptide. Most of the early research around Dihexa has looked at the HGF/c-Met pathway, along with changes in synapses and memory-related behavior in experimental models.
Dihexa also stands apart from many of the research peptides that are commonly discussed today. It is not simply a copy of a naturally occurring peptide. Instead, it was designed by modifying the structure of angiotensin IV, giving researchers a different compound to study in laboratory.

Route
Oral
Oral protocols are taken once daily, typically in the morning for cognitive effects. Subcutaneous protocols use lower doses due to higher bioavailability. Some research protocols explore intranasal administration.

What the evidence shows
Dihexa's evidence comes from a small number of rat and cell studies, mostly from one university group. It has never been tested in a published human trial.
A related drug targeting the same HGF/c-Met pathway, fosgonimeton, failed to improve cognition in a 2024 Alzheimer's trial.
Safety and regulatory position
Not approved · animal data onlyDihexa is not approved anywhere and has no human safety data. FDA removed it from Category 2 in April 2026, and a further advisory review is expected by early 2027; it may not be compounded routinely.
The HGF/c-Met pathway it activates is also involved in cancer growth, which is a serious theoretical concern for a compound with no long-term safety data.
Research-grade material sold online is not an approved drug. Its identity, purity and amount can't be assumed without independent testing, so check the vendor's batch COA.
