What the evidence shows
Most evidence is for thymosin beta-4, the full natural protein, which has animal data and a few small human trials (eye drops for dry eye, topical gel for wounds).
TB-500 sold online is usually a short synthetic fragment of that protein, and sometimes the full sequence; vendors vary. The fragment itself has essentially no human research.
Safety and regulatory position
Not FDA-approvedTB-500 is not approved as a drug anywhere. In April 2026 FDA removed it from Category 2, its list of bulk substances flagged for safety concerns in compounding. That is not an approval: an FDA advisory committee reviewed it in July 2026, and no rule allowing pharmacies to compound it has been finalized.
There is no reliable human safety data for injected TB-500. Because it promotes cell migration and blood-vessel growth, the same theoretical tumor concern raised for BPC-157 applies. It is prohibited in sport at all times under the WADA list (S2 peptide hormones and growth factors).
Research-grade material sold online is not an approved drug. Its identity, purity and amount can't be assumed without independent testing, so check the vendor's batch COA.
